Come on Hertz u gots to do better!!! My friend & I tried to rent a car this past weekend 11/15 and the associates working there were THE WORST! We got more help from a customer waiting then the folks working there... So we go in just before they were to close - unbeknowst to us and waited to be assisted. No Hello, I'll be right with you or anything. Now the chick (Bae-bae) did stop what she was doing with her customer & walked over to door and locked it! Still she didnt even acknowledge that we were in there.
Okay so the other young lady we'll call her Shaqueda (there were only 2) finished with her customer and I walk up and ask, 'Do u have any cars available?' She looks at me then looks to the other girl and umm nothing but minivans. The other chimes in and says but it you drive the van to the airport you can trade it for a car. I say okay lets do that to the person that's supposed to be helping me. Shaqueda says 'Well you were talking to her (Bae Bae) so she can help you'. WHAT?, you rude azz! I said we are all standing in front of each other so I know u heard what she said and my request so who's going to do it!!!! B*^!! She was like well we can't do that... yeah right heffa you just didn't want to do the work. So she & Bae get into it about the customer beside me's declined credit card. Ooookkkaaay if his cc is being declined then u now have a available rental car right?? Just a thought. Oh and is it appropriate to have a shouting match about the customer in front of him?? She even said loud enough for everyone to hear. "If it says DECLINED what you want me to do- Call the BANK!!
So the only other customer in there says, "Isnt that car outside available, sumbody just brought it back!' Daggonnit why didn't Dumb #1 & Dumber #2 suggest that?? So I say oh cool let me ask. Why did I do that? Them fools looked at me like 'Come on Son, We not giving u a car already!' But they said... I guess, let me check and then just stood there. Im like who she checking with?? No typing or calling, just standing there. THEN she goes to the back and probably asks an imaginary manager if we could get the car. She says, Its not clean! (That's it not another word) oooookkkkaaay so that means you'll knock 10% off and we'll take it... she huffs. OhhhhhhhUUUugghhh let me check! Im so frustrated at this point. So she goes & asks Casper again can we get the car then comes back and says "It's Reserved" Chile Bye. I'm over Hertz! We left!
HERTZ evening workers, you are all the weakest link! I will be on Hertz.com submitting my displeasure with your less than mediocre service. GOODBYE!

Excellent Cust Service Awardees! YAY
CVS on 12th & Penn Ave and Chik Fil A, Laurel get the great customer service award!! Finally some good service.
Earlier this week (11/17) I went to CVS to pick up a presciption for my granny and what do ya know I also pick about 10 other things that I really had no reason to buy. But Anywho... Cases of soda & water were on sale for 4 for $10 so I got 3 and a number of other junk food related items. lol The cashier that was ringing my stuff was very pleasant. With the how's your day going and did u find everything ok, do you have any coupons for me today and let me go find that for you!
WOW rarely does anyone actually say anything more than 'do u have a CVS card?' I really appreciated her candor! Kudos to you young lady, keep up the good work. She even went to get the manager when the sodas didn't ring up with the right price. Of course it was b/c one of the workers didn't take down an old sale sticker but hey, wasn't my fault. I saw SALE and picked up the items. The manager changed the prices for me (THANK AND U!) She said, Shooo if you don't ask U won't receive, and have a great day lol! This young lady's customer service definitely lightened my mood b/c the pharmacy said it'll be a 12hr wait for granny's prescriptions! 12 hours tho! That's convenient!
Now to the FOOD! Chick FilA you are a WINNER!! I've never had a bad experience at any location. In Laurel, they put me on to something new tho! I usually get the nugget kid's meal (which is awesome) with my half n half sweet tea mix (No they don't complain when u ask them to do 1/2 lemonade & 1/2 sweet tea YES!). Okay so I don't need the toy that comes with the meal so I usually give it back but on this occassion, the young lady says, Oh did you want icecream instead?? Huh? What? that's an option? Icecream for Toy! What a DEAL! I was YEs Yes Yes! I didn't know u could do that! Made my freaking afternoon! U know McD's WILL NOT offer u anything! Not an extra fry or not even some sauce for you nuggets! that'll be 25cents! lmao!
THANK U Chick-FilA U have a customer for life! Hopefully I be blogger more frequently with good cust service winners! naaaahhh probably not. They come few & far between :)

Im baack! on Macy's!
So I give good 'ole Macy's Customer Service a call to inquire about why my online payment hadn't posted after a week and got 'Rahmed' sp? Haven't the slightest of where he wasn't from but it wasn't from DC I presume.
So anywho, I give him my info, you know name, last 4 of social yadda yadda then he says 'how may I help u' great this goin well or so I thought!! I say yes I'm inquiring on why my payment hasn't posted to my acct yet. He says ok let me check-- then says Oh I can't see online or Checkfree Payments. Huh?? then what were you checking?? Okay so again I say do you see a payment pending on my acct. He says, what's your acct number? Umm didn't we already go thru this.... So I read him my confirmation of the payment he again says I can't see payments but I can see a payment to post to your acct by COB today. WTH? Am I or is he speaking a different language??
I was so confused, my initial question was about a payment correct? Why Why Why do companies hire folk that either don't understand what you're saying or don't know how to do their jobs. So Frustrating.... I'll make my payment in the store from here on out.

Rizik's Bridal Shmidal Store
One of best friend's calls me this am about her uncomfortable & disappointing experience at this upscale bridal store (www.riziks.com) on Connecticut Ave this weekend. In search of the bridal gowns for the bridal party she made an appt. She arrived at the shop with her Matron of Honor and guess what? they were greeted properly and offered assistance promptly! yeah right Of Course NOT!!
Noone even attempted to acknowledge their presence but all the while continued to dote all over the 1 other bride-to-be that was there, lets call her Susie. After about 10mins of waiting she inquired with a sales assoc about 1 of the dresses that they had to find themselves. The sooooo busy associate (lets call her Rudey) cause thats just was she was; pointed them in a direction of more dresses and trotted off. Uuuuhhh clearly there's no need to offer any assistance or even inquire as to what they were looking for in the store. That would be just too much like right.
After being sloshed into a dressing area where they tried dresses, my friend asks for the color swatches. So Rudey says, 'I need to know the material!' Im no expert, but what does the material have to do with a color & if you're the one who works there handling dresses all day, wouldnt you know the material? Anywho, she basically drops the color samples off and again leaves to finish her inventory or whatever. All the while she and um 'Becky'(Assoc #2) are all too happy to offer options, alteration info, compliments and any other normal service that a bridal shop usually gives; to Susie.
What... everyone doesn't deserve the same type of service??
No but it gets better, she doesn't want to provide the costs of any of the dresses (she says its listed on the tags, find them & look) no info on ordering the other gowns that werent available in the store and then states, that for any purchases 'payment is required in full at the time of order.' Did she tell the other girl that; prob not.
They both realized that these folks were not interested in providing them any type of real service and decided to leave but not BEFORE the ignorant insinuation of >Becky, are those earrings we had out, still there?< umm what u tryin to say?? Hmmm. U be the judge?
Stellar Cust Service this is not? Did the Conn. Ave persona have anything to do with this service? Better be glad I wasn't there.. :0( Aww friend. Sorry u had to go thru that NONSENSE!! They just lost A BIG SALE - Im sure the owners would luv to hear about it and trust ... they will! ;)

Home Depot (Oxon Hill) Paint Dept
U all are aware of the 'we match anything' slogan right? Well I took a color I found in Lowe's to see if Home Depot could match it and offer a better price...
Okay so I go to the paint counter wait for 6-7 minutes before the guy working their says 'U need some help wit paint?' Umm why would I be at the PAINT counter if I didn't need help with PAINT! Anywho, I say yes and then give him the swatch. He says this is from Lowes. umm yeah I guess I didn't already know that. So I just look at him like Duhhhh and ask again 'Are you able to match or make this color?' He says again 'this is from Lowes' so I guess me ignoring that comment earlier prompted him to say it again. So now other customers are looking and by the way waiting to be helped. I say again, lets try sumthing different. Are Yooouu A-Ble to MAATCH or MAKE this Color? (I say slowly) This clearly upset him and says well I'll try and walks away. He walks around in a circle then comes right back and says again it might be easier to just get it from Lowes.
Now where in the Employee Manual does it say 'Please refer customer to another competing store at all times!?' That's productive and lucrative.
I then huff & say, your commercial says that you can match anything. You just helped a lady who had a piece of a piece of tile that she found on the floor. You matched it with no questions! So are you able to do it or not! He's gets all idignant and says if you want me to help you just have to ask in a certain way. WTH is that? I hurt his feelings? Im thinking, How else am I to ask you to do your job. I've only tried twice. I walked over to another customer and said can you ask him to make this (giving her the swatch) sample please? She laughed. I walk back to him and say very nicely. I've come into Home Depot's paint section with THIS color swatch, I would like to know if YOU can make me a sample in this color. If you are not able to do so please let me know of whom I can talk to in order to get it...
After about 45mins I FINALLY walked out with my paint sample. Why was this sooooooooooooo hard?? He should've just took the color, put it in the machine and let it attempt to match the color. If it didn't work, oh well, he tried right? that would have been good customer service.
Who argues with a customer?

Sooo why this blog?? Im so tired...
I feel like I'm always in situations where the Art of Customer Service is challenged. Is there a such thing as good customer service anymore? So I decided to share my displeasure with some stores I've visited and their lack of quality customer service. Clearly I shop enough to have story-a-plenty. Feel free to share your own experiences. Please do, I can't be the only one going thru these shanannagans(sp?).
Now I will say that I've had a few instances where I've been pleasantly surprised with good cust service but trust that they're far & few between. Instead I've been shocked & sometimes appalled at the lack of customer service. Why do people take jobs in these fields if they're not interested in doing their jobs??
With that being said; I welcome you to my world... as weird and interesting as it can be.
